At Zazeka we’re committed to supplying high quality organic and sustainable clothing. All our clothing is made with organic cotton. Most is 100% organic and certified by GOTS – Global Organic Textile Standards, but a few items also contain up to 15% recycled polyester which is made from recycled plastic bottles!
The GOTS standards include:
- Cotton is grown organically with no GMOs
- The dyes used in the fabrics are biodegradable and azo dyes which release carcinogenic compounds are prohibited
- No chlorine bleaching is used
- Working conditions are safe and hygienic
- No child labour
- No forced or bonded labour
All our clothing is made by manufacturers who are part of the Fair Wear Foundation, an independent, non-profit organisation striving to improve working conditions in the textile industry. Plus we have a range of items which are Fairtrade, with the workers in India receiving a living wage, which is a wage increase of 50% to their previous wage.
Some of our range is part of the Earth Positive range, which uses 90% less carbon than equivalent clothing, this is achieved by a combination of low-impact organic farming, efficiency in manufacturing and transportation, and the use of renewable energy.
The images printed on the clothing are printed using water based inks which don’t contain any chemicals harmful to the environment. All printing staff are paid above the national living wage, regardless of age. Any prints which fail quality checks are donated to charity.
The packaging your order will be delivered in is either 100% recyclable or biodegradable.
All products are vegan – no animal testing, all dyes and inks are vegan and eco friendly.
